We are delighted to announce that the College has been awarded £1.36m government funding to decarbonise our historic Dining Hall, supporting the implementation of a site-wide decarbonisation plan.

Orson Hart (2020) is a third-year Pembroke undergraduate studying Mathematics. Two years into his course, Orson had the opportunity to put some of the theory he had learnt so far into practice with a summer Rokos Internship. He and his supervisor are now planning to publish some of their work in the Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids.

Alumna Lily Elsner (2019, MBA) started her male fertility business, Jack Fertility, in March 2022. A year on, she has been recognised with a Young Innovators Award from Innovate UK. She shares her memories of Pembroke, her journey since graduating, and her best advice for recent graduates.

Congratulations to Pembroke student Utkarsh Amitabh (2022, MSt Practical Ethics) for receiving a UK India Achievers Award last month for excellence in his field. These awards marked India’s 75th independence anniversary and celebrated 75 Indian achievers who are studying/have studied in the UK.

Congratulations to Tutorial Fellow in Biology Professor Roberto Salguero-Gómez who has received a £1 million grant from the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Pushing the Frontiers scheme after having obtained a perfect score in a highly competitive review process.

Jennifer Redmond, Stipendiary Lecturer at Pembroke College, is attending Parliament to present her chemistry research to a range of politicians and a panel of expert judges, as part of STEM for BRITAIN on Monday 6th March.

It is with great sadness that the College reports the recent death of Supernumerary Fellow Professor John Woodhouse. Professor Woodhouse was Fellow of Italian at Pembroke from 1984 to 1989, before moving to Magdalen College as the first Fiat Serena Professor of Italian.

We are excited to share the success of the Pembroke College Biodiversity Project. Set up in 2021 by a team of undergraduate biologists, the project began with two unassuming and overgrown fields near the Pembroke sports ground, which turned out to be hidden gems of biodiversity potential.
