New Alumni Portraits Hung in Hall for 2026

As is Pembroke tradition, a new set of six photographic portraits featuring recent alumni has been hung in the Dining Hall, celebrating the extraordinary lives and achievements of Pembrokians in a wide range of sectors.

Dr Annette Idler, has been researching and writing about global security, particularly in South America, for over 15 years. Over the past 10 days her expertise has been called upon worldwide to explore recent US actions in Venezuela and their wider impact.

Pembroke Fellow Dr Eamonn Molloy Awarded OBE in New Year Honours List

Pembroke Fellow and Tutor in Management Dr Eamonn Molloy has been recognised in the 2026 New Year Honours List. He was awarded an OBE for services to the Royal Air Force in his role as Chairman of the Royal Air Force Central Fund.

Pembroke College’s annual Scholars’ Lecture and Dinner was held on the 10th of November to celebrate the achievements of our undergraduate students. Academic Director Nancy Braithwaite welcomed the students and introduced Dr Elisabeth Kendall, Senior Research Fellow in Arabic and Islamic Studies, who delivered this year’s Scholar’s Lecture: ‘The Jihadi Battel for Hearts and Minds: A View from the Ground.’

Celebrating Success: Catherine Ashworth

Catherine Ashworth (2016, MPhysPhil Physics and Philosophy) recently completed her degree, earning 2nd place in her cohort across the university and was awarded Pembroke’s Levick Prize for Philosophy. She is excited to stay at Pembroke for a BPhil in Philosophy, having won the RG Collingwood Scholarship to continue her studies.

Celebrating Success: Joe Pollaco

Joe Pollaco (2017, Physics) has recently achieved outstanding results in his university final exams by obtaining a first and placing third in his cohort across the whole university. Joe is also the winner of the Cleobury Prize, an award given to students who have performed exceptionally well in their science finals.
