Rhiannon Durant (2020, MBiochem Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry) recently finished her first year at Pembroke, earning a distinction in her prelims and ranking 1st in her cohort across Oxford University. We spoke to Rhiannon about her journey at Pembroke so far, and what she enjoys most about studying her course.

Members of Pembvironment, the college's environmental society, led an initiative to promote environmental sustainability projects with the Ramallah Friends School in Palestine.

It is with great sadness that the College records the death of Dr Zbigniew Pełczyński OBE, Emeritus Fellow and former Fellow in Politics. 

Zbigniew will be remembered with great affection by the College community, and many others here in Oxford and around the world.

Ana is an internationally known expert in the use of machine learning to collate and analyse neurosonographic data. She will lead the introduction of Computer Science to our undergraduate course offering from 2022.

Congratulations to undergraduate Pete Rae, (2020, Medicine – Clinical) who placed in the top 10% of students in the Royal College of Ophthalmology's annual Prize Examination.

The MCR have elected a new committee in preparation for the 2021-22 academic year. The hustings for the new committee took place virtually in late May, and the new committee will begin with immediate effect, overseeing MCR Freshers Week and the welcoming of new MCR students in the autumn.
