New Alumni Portraits Hung in Hall for 2026

As is Pembroke tradition, a new set of six photographic portraits featuring recent alumni has been hung in the Dining Hall, celebrating the extraordinary lives and achievements of Pembrokians in a wide range of sectors.

Pembroke Fellow Dr Eamonn Molloy Awarded OBE in New Year Honours List

Pembroke Fellow and Tutor in Management Dr Eamonn Molloy has been recognised in the 2026 New Year Honours List. He was awarded an OBE for services to the Royal Air Force in his role as Chairman of the Royal Air Force Central Fund.

Since graduating from Pembroke in 2006, Verity Harding’s career has been nothing short of impressive – from working as a special adviser to Nick Clegg, to being named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in AI in September last year. Now, she has shared her knowledge in her recently published book AI Needs You: How We Can Change AI’s Future and Save Our Own, designed to explain why you should get involved in one of the most rapidly changing industries in the world.

Martha Klein

Dr Martha Klein (1941 - 2024)

The College is deeply saddened to report the death of Emeritus Fellow Dr Martha Klein. Martha was Pembroke Fellow in Philosophy for 13 years, and a much loved and respected tutor. She died peacefully at home on 9th March 2024.

A Sporting Weekend: Alumni v Students

Over our 400-year history, sport has played an increasingly important part of student life at Pembroke: from lawn bowls in the eighteenth century, to a growth in team sports and rowing in the nineteenth century, until eventually in 1921 the College was given its own sportsground, in memory of an alumnus.

It was on that very sportsground that, last weekend, old and current members of the Pembroke Football and Netball clubs joined together for a match across the ages to celebrate our 400th anniversary.

Having received offers to study at Pembroke earlier this year, our 2024 Undergraduate Offer Holders were invited to College on Friday to get a taste of College life and meet current students and staff. This year, 90 Offer Holders were welcomed to Pembroke for the occasion, the highest attendance we have ever seen for this event.

Pembroke DPhil Student Named ‘Clinician of the Year’ at 2024 Bone Idols Awards

Pembroke DPhil student (Clinical Neurosciences, 2022) and consultant nurse Gerard Mawhinney has been named 2024 'Clinician of the Year' at the “Bone Idols” awards, a national awards ceremony hosted by the Bone Cancer Research Trust to celebrate excellence in primary bone cancer care and research.
