Pembroke JRF organises Interdisciplinary Summer School on Forest Ecosystems

This August, Smithsonian-Pembroke Junior Research Fellow Dr Sruthi M. Krishna Moorthy organised The Interdisciplinary Summer School on Forest Ecosystems, a vibrant event hosted at the University of Oxford which brings together a global community of forest researchers.

Professor Ana Namburete awarded European Research Council Starting Grant

We are delighted to share that Professor Ana Namburete, Pembroke’s Rokos Fellow and Tutor in Computer Science, has been awarded a prestigious European Research Council Starting Grant for her WOMB2COT project. 

Long Service Awards 2023: 325 Years of Staff Service Celebrated

Last month staff from across College gathered for our annual Long Service Awards, an opportunity to recognise the dedicated service of those that have been with us for over 10 years. Fifteen staff members received awards, recognising a total of 325 years of service between them, with the longest serving member having worked at Pembroke for an incredible forty-one years.

This year's lecture was hosted by Professor Ana Namburete, focusing on her newly published research into fetal brain development during pregnancy.

The Text Behind the Text: Pembroke Fellow to Speak at Event on "Forgotten Editor" of the Oxford English Dictionary

How do you make a dictionary? Following the recent discovery of editors' proofs (showing handwritten edits) from the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary, an event on 17th November will feature talks from a variety of academics, including Pembroke's Professor Lynda Mugglestone, on the life and work of second OED editor Henry Bradley and his contribution to the dictionary which remains at the forefront of lexicography today.

The Brain's Development Through Pregnancy: Pembroke Fellow Publishes New Research

New Pembroke Scholarship Renamed In Memory of Dr Holger Kramer

We are pleased to announce the renaming of the College’s Graduate Scholarship in Chemistry to the Holger Kramer Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship has been named in memory of Dr Holger Kramer, a former Biochemistry tutor at Pembroke who died suddenly last year.
