Pembroke Host Annual Fund Series to Thank Donors

NEWS |

Last month we hosted the Annual Fund Series to thank those who have generously helped Pembroke by giving to its Annual Fund.

Our alumni donors continue to play an essential role at Pembroke, supporting all areas of College and guaranteeing that students enjoy not only an excellent academic experience but also many of the added extras that make College life here so special.

Attendees were treated to an entertaining talk titled ‘Revolting Science’ from TV presenter and alumnus, Stefan Gates. He led the audience on a journey through the body; edible insects, fire extinguishers, saliva biochemistry and plenty of audience participation made for a truly unique afternoon!

Two current graduate students, Lydia France (Interdisciplinary Biosciences, Zoology, 2014) and Dyedra Morrissey (DPhil Experimental Psychology, 2014) gave fascinating talks about their research on ‘Bird Flight and Aerodynamics’ and ‘The Psychology of Time’.

Thank you to all speakers for their contribution and to attendees for their continued support of Pembroke.
