Students and Alumni Connect in December Telethon for the Pembroke Annual Fund

NEWS |

Eleven Pembroke students took part in the telethon between 6th and 19th December 2016, in an effort to raise money for the Pembroke Annual Fund. The telethon was a great success, with £163,702 raised in pledges and an additional £6000 raised through matched giving.

Among other diverse outputs, the Pembroke Annual Fund helps to provide library resources, support students in financial need, improve the College access programmes and supports new student-led initiatives. Across the two-week telethon period, student callers spoke to 485 alumni from across the globe. Out of those who were spoken to, 58% made a pledge and 127 new regular gifts were established.

Pembroke’s Annual Fund Manager, Tom Williams, who coordinated the project said: ‘Pembroke would like to thank all those alumni spoken to for their generous support of the Annual Fund which will have a significant positive impact on those studying at Pembroke today and in the future. Thanks must also go to the student callers whose warm and friendly approach made this possible'.
