We are delighted to report that Pembroke alumnus, Samuel Putra (Chemical Engineering, 2012), recently received the Departmental Award for Best Performance in Chemical Engineering Finals, which were sat  in Trinity Term 2016.

In correspondence, Samuel commented: ‘Surely this achievement would not have been possible without the support that Professor Clive Siviour, other tutors and the College provided. So I thank you very much for that.’

Since graduating from Pembroke College last year, Samuel has continued to pursue his research interests at the University. He is currently undertaking a DPhil in Engineering Science at Trinity College, funded by the Oxford-Jardine Postgraduate Scholarship.

We caught up with him to find out more about his current research: ‘My research interest is currently on the integration of nanotechnology and bioelectrochemical systems for a highly-efficient, simultaneous carbon emission reduction and wastewater's energy recovery.’
