Rhiannon White (Experimental Psychology, 2014) Commended for Exceptional Performance in Part I Finals Examinations

NEWS |

Pembroke second year undergraduate Rhiannon White has achieved outstanding results in her Part I finals examinations in Experimental Psychology.

The Part I examinations in Experimental Psychology comprise 10 compulsory papers on topics such as Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience, Language and Cognition, Social Psychology, Perception and Experimental Design and Statistics.

Rhiannon received marks over 70 (first class standard) in each of her 10 papers – a very rare achievement – making her the second highest performing student in Part I of the Honour School of Experimental Psychology across Oxford University.

To commend her results, Rhiannon has been awarded the Proxime Accessit for the Weiskrantz Prize in Psychological Studies.

Professor Hannah Smithson, Fellow and Tutor in Psychology at Pembroke, commented: ‘Traditionally, students at Oxford were congratulated on outstanding performances such as this by being invited to a viva at which the Examiners all rose and doffed their caps. We no longer have vivas, but this is probably the best expression of how I feel – hats off to you Rhiannon!’
