Peminists Support 'Because I am a Girl' Campaign

NEWS |

Pembroke student society, the Peminists, have publicly supported children’s charity Plan UK and its "Because I am a Girl" campaign by taking part in the Face Up initiative.

Organised by JCR Women's Rep Anna Simpson, students have been photographed with the phrase I’m putting girls’ rights where they can’t be ignored digitally written on their faces, adding their images to thousands of others collected nationally to break the silence on violence against girls around the world.

The participation of Pembroke students has been noted in the local press: click here to read the Oxford Mail coverage.
