Pembroke athletes secure wins at 80th Athletics Freshers’ Varsity in Cambridge

The 80th annual Freshers’ Varsity Match took place earlier this month, and saw some of our Pembroke athletes secure well-deserved wins.

The Oxford University Athletic Club travelled to Cambridge to compete in the event, among them three Pembroke students: Jack Hansen (2025, Visiting Student in Economics), Ali Safa (2025, Financial Strategy), and Bernhard Ingenlath (2025, MSt History). Many congratulations to Jack and Ali who both competed in the shot put, finishing second and third respectively. Jack didn’t stop there – he also competed in the hammer, securing first place. Bernhard represented the Athletics team as a non-point reserve in the 1,500m.
