Living Gods in Borderlands: poster award for Aniket De (2014)

The British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) hosts an annual Posters in Parliament exhibition at which students from Universities across the country exhibit on the subjects of their own research. They explain and defend their posters to MPs and other influential guests.

The event is intended to showcase the important work being undertaken by academics of the future and to highlight the role of students in addressing a broad range of issues.

Aniket De, a Pembroke Visiting Student from Tufts University, was selected to represent the University of Oxford at this year's exhibition and was awarded a highly commended prize for his poster entitled Living Gods in Borderlands: Studying Performance along the Indo-Bangladesh Border.

Aniket's project examines how people living along the Indo-Bangladesh border use forms of folk rituals and religious performances to critique modern political events and voice their grievances.

For more information about this event see the BCUR website.
