Honorary Fellowship ceremony: Sir Philip Moor

The Master and Fellows welcomed Sir Philip Moor to an Honorary Fellowship of the College on 20th February.  Sir Philip and his wife, Lady Gillian, attended a special ceremony in the Master's Lodgings to mark his election to the Fellowship and then enjoyed High Table Dinner in Hall.

Philip Moor studied Law at Pembroke and matriculated in 1978. He was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1982 and took Silk in 2001, practising from 1 Hare Court where he was head of Chambers for four years. Appointed a Recorder in 2002, he was approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge, and in 2004 served as chairman of the Family Law Bar Association.  The honour of Knighthood was conferred upon Sir Philip at the time of his appointment as a Justice of the High Court where he has sat on the Family Division since October 2011.

Honorary Fellowships are awarded, from time to time, at the discretion of the College's Governing Body to distinguished persons.  Current Pembroke Honorary Fellows include His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, former US Senator Richard G Lugar and former UK Deputy Prime Minister Lord Heseltine.
