Art Installation 'Piano Migrations' at Pembroke: Video

On 20th and 21st November 2015, an art installation came to Pembroke College as part of the Contemporary Music’s 2015 Light and Sound Trail, in conjunction with the Oxford Christmas Light Festival.

'Piano Migrations' by artist Kathy Hinde was exhibited in the College's Old Quad. A video of the installation in action was taken by Tim Brindley.

Kathy said of her time at Pembroke: 'It was a wonderful to see Piano Migrations in the setting of Pembroke College's quadrant, which felt like a very natural location for the piece, with the combination of stunning architecture and formal garden. The archway entrance to the College created a beautiful frame for the piano that seems to draw the audience in for a closer look. The quiet and still setting also added to the sense of wonder instilled by the piano played by birds.'
