Professor Fredman explores a range of issues that raise particular legal challenges, including the death penalty, abortion, housing, health, speech, education and religion.

She analyses these through a comparison across jurisdictions, looking at how judges respond to challenging human rights issues, as well as highlighting the growing transnational conversation between courts in these areas.

The conference hosted 120 participants from all over the world, and the guest speakers included senior members of UN Women, the UN Working Group on Discrimination against Women, prominent NGOs, senior academics.

Professor Fredman’s report and book publication are the latest additions to her publications on human rights law, discrimination law and labour law. Comparative Human Rights Law was published on the 15th November, 2018 by Oxford University Press.
