Access Week 2025: From Local to Global

Designed to emulate 'a week in the life of an Oxford undergraduate', Access Week is an annual summer residential at Pembroke College. Select pupils from our target regions who have participated in our Access and Outreach programmes were invited to attend the residential, which took place this summer. We welcomed 120 pupils who participated in tutorials, seminars, mock interviews, academic trips, and much more.

Reflections of a Recent Pembroke Graduate

Starting university can be a big transition for anyone. Michaelmas Term Student Welfare Launches with Online Zoom Session

In late September, our 2020 undergraduate Freshers were introduced to members of the Pembroke Welfare Team ahead of moving into College and beginning Michaelmas term.

On Tuesday the 22nd, students received a video on College welfare support from our Welfare and Wellbeing Co-ordinator Dr Rebekah White. The following day the welfare team hosted a Zoom session which was joined by over 130 of our new freshers as participants. The session featured randomly-assigned "breakout rooms" to give freshers the chance to meet small groups of their peers as well as members of the welfare team and current JCR students.

Rebekah commented: “It was brilliant to see so many of our incoming students and we were grateful for (and inspired by) the positivity and enthusiasm with which they embraced the virtual icebreaker session.”
