115 Students Take Part in Pembroke’s Online Maths Easter School

NEWS |

On the 17th of April, 115 state school A-level students took part in an online maths workshop ran by Professor Raphael Hauser and Aurelio Carlucci.

Used as a digital alternative to the originally planned Easter maths residential, the online workshop featured two sessions that were easily accessible for students, followed by a general Q&A focusing on studying maths at Oxford that was aided by two of our current students.

The workshop was well received by students, with 85% of received feedback rating the sessions 4/5 stars or higher. One student commented: ‘The lectures helped me to understand better how maths is being taught at university level’ whilst another said: ‘The student Q&A … really made me feel less intimidated about applying to Oxbridge/other top institutions for Maths’.

Following on from the initiative’s success, we will be looking to run further online events in the future, for a range of subjects.
