These weekly open seminars are run by our Chaplain, The Revd Dr Andrew Teal, and will take place every Thursday during term time from 13:05 to 13:55, in the Mary Hyde Eccles Room. Donuts, drinks and fruit will be provided.

Tolkien and Beowulf: a match made in Pembroke

Public lecture by Professor Andy Orchard, Oxford University's Rawlinson and Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon and Fellow of Pembroke.

Pembroke English Literature Graduate Students will read passages of Tolkien's translation of Beowulf during Professor Orchard's lecture, which will also include segments read from the original Old English version.
