Poetry at Pembroke: Simon Collings and Gavin Selerie

Poetry at Pembroke will return in Michaelmas 2019! The 'In the Pink' poetry series will commence weekly at 6pm on Wednesdays. This reading will feature Simon Collings and Gavin Selerie.

Simon Collings lives in Oxford. His poetry, short fiction, translations, reviews, and essays have appeared in a wide range of magazines including Stride, Fortnightly Review, Café Irreal, Litter, The Long Poem Magazine, Ink, Sweat & Tears, PN Review, and Journal of Poetics Research. He has published two booklets: Out West (2017) and Stella Unframed (2018).

Gavin Selerie was born in London, where he still lives. His books include Azimuth (1984), Roxy (1996), Le Fanu’s Ghost (2006) and Hariot Double (2016) - all long sequences with linked units. Music’s Duel: New and Selected Poems 1972–2008 was published in 2009, and Collected Sonnets this autumn (both from Shearsman Books). Selerie is known particularly for poems about landscape and romantic love, using traditional and experimental form. He did his first degree at Oxford, and the reading will reflect continuing involvement with the city and with Oxfordshire.
