Part of a two-day workshop on the Treatise Concerning the Iconoclasts by Vrt‘anēs Kertoł, a unique seventh-century treatise in support of the veneration of holy images, a public lecture will be held at Pembroke College on 30th October.
Speaking on Doctrine and the Economy of Salvation at the Red Monastery is Professor Elizabeth S. Bolman Ph.D of Temple University, Philadelphia, who is an expert in Late Antique and Byzantine visual culture.
The accompanies the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the Calouste Gulbenkian Professorship of Armenian Studies at the University of Oxford.
