What are the relationships and reciprocities between fiction and translation in the work of contemporary translators and authors in Japan? How do they explore new territories of world literature? Which Japanese authors are we excited about anyway?
Pembroke College is delighted to host three highly acclaimed authors and translators active in Japan today – Masatsugu Ono, Kyoko Yoshida and David Karashima – who will engage with the above questions, and others, in a roundtable conversation with Japanese literature specialists from Oxford – Linda Flores, Jennifer Guest and Laurence Mann.
