PAST EVENT | 03 July 2015 09:00 - 06 September 2015 17:00
On 10 October 1765 Samuel Johnson (Pembroke alumnus) published his edition of Shakespeare's plays. In summer 2015 the Bodleian Library is hosting a special exhibition, co-curated by Pembroke Fellow in English Professor Lynda Mugglestone, which reveals how this long-delayed project, by Johnson and his friend, the actor David Garrick, established Shakespeare's contemporary reputation.
For full details of the exhibition, visit the Bodleian Library website.
A weekend conference to mark the anniversary of Johnson's publication will take place at Pembroke from 7th to 9th August - click here for full details.
