FAQs: undergraduate applicants
This page is intended to direct to you to resources about Pembroke which may help with your research as you consider your College choice.
If you can't find an answer here please get in touch with us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll do our best to help!
What undergraduate courses do you offer?
We offer a wide variety of courses at Pembroke, with many joint options represented in our student body. You can find the full listing, and further information about each option in the Courses section of this website.
What financial support is available for undergraduates?
Information about grants, awards, scholarships and support is available on our undergraduate finance page, and you can find information about Oxford's provision (which applies to students at Pembroke in the same way as every other College) at the Oxford fees and funding page.
What welfare support is provided for students?
We have a team of people involved in welfare provision which includes staff members and student peer supporters. Resources are also available through Oxford University, for instance the Counselling Service. Pembroke has a Welfare Co-ordinator whose role is to advise students on the best contact for their circumstances, and there are people on call via the College Lodge 24/7 because we know that help is often needed outside of regular office hours. Find out more on our Welfare web pages.
What are the accommodation options and costs?
Undergraduates are guaranteed College accommodation for at least three years at Pembroke. There is a choice of five room "bands", each priced differently according to the size of the room and whether it is en-suite or has shared bathroom facilities. Detailed information about the rooms on offer and their costs is available on our undergraduate accommodation page.
Is Pembroke accommodation catered?
In first year our undergraduates pre-pay for six dinners per week, which are a mix of informal (canteen-style) meals and more formal, seated-and-served evenings. Lunches are available in Hall on a pay-as-you-go basis and the College has an on-site cafe (Farthings) where breakfasts, brunches, snacks and drinks are available each day. In second and subsequent years there is flexibility for undergraduates living in College's main site to split their pre-paid food allowance between Hall and Farthings cafe, or to choose accommodation at our self-catered annex nearby. We also have student kitchens around the site for use when meals are not being taken in Hall or the cafe. Find full details on our Catering page.
I have special dietary needs/complicated allergies. Can you cope with this?
Our Catering team are very experienced at dealing with a range of requests, including very complicated needs and allergies. We ask new students to tell us about their dietary needs before they arrive so that the team can prepare in advance, and you can be assured that on arrival you won't go hungry.
How can I make an application to Pembroke?
We're delighted you want to! Please see our key information for undergraduate applicants page.
