Dr Tobias Cremer
A political scientist, my research focuses on the relationship between religion, secularisation and the surge of ethno-nationalist populism throughout western societies. In particular I explore how right-wing populist movements employ religion as a cultural identity marker, and how believers and religious authorities are reacting to such references.
I hold a PhD in Politics and International Relations, from the University of Cambridge, a Master in Public Policy (MPP) from the Harvard Kennedy School, where I was a McCloy Fellow, an MPhil in Politics and International Studies from Cambridge University, and a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Sciences Po Paris. Across my career, I have gathered work experience in the private and public sector, including in the German Parliament, the German Federal Foreign Office, and in public sector consulting.
