Dr Christopher Wadibia

Junior Research Fellow

Hello! My name is Christopher Wadibia and I’m a Junior Research Fellow at Pembroke College, Oxford studying the intersection between Black Christianity, racism, and public policy in Britain. My broader research interests include transnational Pentecostalism, religion and global development, and religion, politics, and society. I grew up in Alabama, Nebraska, and California in the United States and have studied in the USA, Ireland, and the UK. After completing a few research stints in Nigeria and a PhD Theology and Religious Studies at Selwyn College, Cambridge, I applied to pursue a postdoctoral project at Pembroke because of the College’s inspiring investments in educational access work for Black communities. I look forward to teaching students in the second and third years of my fellowship. I love my current research project because it combines the academic study of religion with a focus on promoting substantive public policy changes in the British context.
