Pembroke's Kaplan Senior Research Fellow, Dr Amy Dickman, has achieved vital conservation successes in one of Africa’s most carnivore-rich environments by working alongside local communities to reduce intense conflict with the region’s lion population. In recognition of this work she has been included on a shortlist of just three names for the 2014 Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa.

The Tusk Conservation Awards were launched in 2013 and presented in London by Royal Patron HRH the Duke of Cambridge. Established in partnership with Investec Asset Management, the awards recognise individuals who have undertaken outstanding, inspirational conservation work throughout Africa. Their achievements are specifically within the spheres of protection of endangered species or threatened habitat, promotion of environmental education and the development of community-driven conservation. This year's awards will be presented on 25th November.
