Easter Humanities & Theology Conference
The Easter Conference brings the programme’s students together with Pembroke undergraduates, who share with them a topic from their own degree studies. Students work in small groups with an undergraduate mentor, who helps them work through a topic that they themselves are passionate about. Last year these included the Human Rights Act; theatre in late Elizabethan and early Jacobean London; and women and gender in Cold War Europe. Students then present to the group, sharing what they have learnt. The school ends with a prize ceremony for the best group presentation and individual contributions.
Having come together again as a group, and worked with Pembroke undergraduates, students leave the Easter Conference well prepared for the challenge of the summer residential school.
The Pembroke Access & Outreach Humanities Programme, as well as the Pembroke Subject Centres, provide days when undergraduates lead sessions with sixth formers on critical thinking, analysis and presentation.
The Pem-Brooke London and Pembroke North academic year programme culminates in a residential week held at Pembroke College where all participants come together to experience a taste of Oxford student life. Read more...
