Arrival and registration
If you are studying online for Michaelmas Term you will still need to complete the online pre-registration, but you will not need to attend any meetings to do with accommodation. You should still (digitally) attend any tutor meetings or Visiting Student inductions you are invited to, and we’d encourage you to take part in whatever parts of Freshers’ Week are online, including the virtual Freshers’ Fair! We will collect and hold your BRP and University cards for you so that you can collect them on your arrival in Hilary. More information about your Hilary arrival and inductions for those who are beginning their study in HT will follow later in the term.
Visiting Students will be invited to a two-part digital induction with Kirstie Morris before term starts. The first part is scheduled for the 22nd September, and will cover some tips about British culture and norms to hopefully help you when settling in; it is designed for Visiting Students who are here in person in Michaelmas Term, though those who are studying online are also welcome to attend. The second, scheduled for the 30th September, is for all Visiting Students and will introduce you to the Oxford system, the Pembroke programme, and the other Visiting Students. We will also be running a second set of inductions closer to the arrival point for those arriving in Hilary. Further information on these sessions will follow to you by email.
Click here to find out more about arrival and registration times. All visiting students are expected to arrive by Sunday 4th October 2020.
Freshers’ week runs from Monday 5th October until Sunday 11th October. This will undoubtably be different this term but will still be busy, it is a great time to get to know how the University and College work, meet your tutors and fellow students and get settled in, ready for the work to begin!
You can find the preliminary timetable for Freshers' Week by clicking on this link. Please note that it is subject to change and updates may be issued by email during the course of the week.
Oxford Student Union - Wednesday 7th of October - Virtual Freshers’ Fair
At the Virtual Freshers’ Fair, students will be able chat live to hundreds of student clubs, societies, and commercial stallholders. You will be able to engage with the virtual stalls by asking questions, filling goodie bags, and taking part video calls to make connections and get involved in what interests you.
We have allocated time slots, like at previous Freshers’ Fairs. More information and frequently asked questions can be found on our website here.
Visiting Students time slot: 3.30pm - 4.00pm
