Hall and Farthings
There will be an enhanced offering available in Hall this term. Those students living on main site on catered contracts, including all undergraduate freshers, will have breakfast (or brunch at weekends) and dinner each day included in their meal plan, at no additional cost. Lunch will be available on a pay-as-you go basis to all students, and there will be takeaway options available, as well as a flexible meal plan option remaining available to returning students.
Farthings cafe will operate as a takeaway coffee shop during the day and will offer takeaway meals in the evenings.
Staff will be able to access lunch in Hall or as a takeaway, and there will be some High Table meals for SCR members during term.
Full details and up-to-date information is available to current College members on the intranet.
Undergraduates living on main site (including Rokos Quad) on a catered contract (which includes all Fresher undergraduates) will not have access to shared kitchens this term. Unfortunately the closure of these facilities is necessary because of the large numbers of students who would be likely to be using each kitchen - Public Health England advice makes it clear that this would not be safe.
Those students living at the GAB on a self-catering contract, and graduate students on main site who live in small households in restricted areas of College, will have access to shared ktichens in their households. The catering team have worked hard to expand their offering in Hall and Farthings to help those who will be without a shared facility this term.
Students may bring a kettle and/or mini fridge for use in their bedroom. These appliances will need to be PAT tested if more than two years old but this will be done for you by our maintenance team at the start of term (free of charge). Please note that we cannot allow the use of any other cooking appliances in bedrooms due to the highly sensitive nature of the College's fire safety systems.
The Hall Bar will be closed due to social distancing measures. We are exploring options for providing a pop-up bar in the Chapel Quad marquee space on some nights, to offer a limited service to College members only.
