Poetry at Pembroke will return for Hilary 2020! Readings will take place at 6pm most Wednesdays. This reading will feature Andreea Iulia Scridon, and an open-mic for anybody else who wishes to contribute.
Andreea Iulia Scridon is a poet and translator from Romanian to English. She studies Creative Writing at St Anne’s College, Oxford. Her work has appeared in Asymptote Journal, World Literature Today, WildCourt, E·ratio Poetry Journal, the Oxford Review of Books, Harana Poetry, and elsewhere. She is an editor at Asymptote, E·ratio, and the Oxford Review of Books. Her current work at Oxford focuses on self-translation and contemporary techniques in historical fiction. She is currently translating short stories by Romanian author I.D Sîrbu, one of the representatives of subversive writing under the communist regime, forthcoming with Albion Beatnik Press.
