Crawford, Gerald Shakespear

Gerald Crawford was born on 1st October 1879 in London, the 2nd son of Richard Irvine Crawford, a retired Colonel from the Indian Staff Corps, and his wife, Clara. After attending Malvern College, he matriculated at Pembroke College in 1898, obtained his BA on 19th June 1902 and his MA on 5th December 1907. A Major with the 6th battalion, the South Wales Borderers, he was killed in action on 10th August 1917 and is buried at  Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
