Beaumont, Eric Paton

Eric Beaumont was born on 5th July 1895, the eldest son of Luke and Mary Beaumont of St. Helens, Lancashire. After attending Taunton School, Eric matriculated at Pembroke College in 1913 on a Cleobury Scholarship. He passed his Mods with a 1st class in 1915. A Captain with the 17th battalion, the King’s Liverpool Regiment, Eric died on 2nd April 1918, aged 22, of wounds received in action near St. Quentin. He was awarded the Military Cross on 31st July 1917 and is buried at St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen.
