The Pembroke approach to access work seeks to understand and accommodate the teacher perspective. Accordingly, our programmes connect staff in our partner schools and colleges, via the exchange of subject expertise of Oxbridge academics and alumni, and in so-doing boost and inform teaching strategies.

Pembroke is committed to deepening these connections at the annual Teachers Conference in Oxford. It is an opportunity to enhance partnerships with schools and colleges that we work with week in, week out.

The conference is organised into three interlocking sections. The first is to tackle the conceptual problems and opportunities of the Oxford approach to learning and how this information might be passed on to prospective students; the second is to demonstrate the mechanics of the Oxford application from a subject-specific perspective.

Finally, meetings with specialists in their respective fields will aim both to expand on the day’s work and to serve as a springboard for both future teaching, as well as providing advice and guidance that might be passed onto colleagues and students.
