Arrival and registration

Click here to find out more about arrival and registration times. All undergraduates and visiting student freshers are expected to arrive on Sunday 30 September 2018 between 9am and 2pm.

Freshers' Week

Freshers’ week will be busy, but it is a great time to get to know how the University and College work, meet your tutors and fellow students and get settled in, ready for the work to begin!  A timetable of events will be found here in the next few weeks.

Freshers' Dinners

You will be invited to a formal freshers dinner during freshers’ week. Further details will be found here shortly. 

College library inductions

The College library is open for use by all members of Pembroke and is open 24/7.

Please check the College Library Induction schedule, make a note of your timeslot and add it to your freshers’ timetable.

Bodleian library inductions for undergraduates 

Inductions to the Bodleian library system are run for each subject during freshers week.  Find the timeslot for your subject using the Bodleian library induction timetable.  You will need to make a note of the confirmed timeslot and add it to your freshers’ timetable.

The Bodleian Law Library also runs an induction for Law students. Each session lasts one and a quarter hours, during which students are introduced to hard copy and online legal resources, WebLearn, and the Legal Research and Mooting Skills Programme.
Time: 9:15am on Thursday 4th October. Directions: The Bodleian Law Library, which is in the St Cross Building, right at the top of the huge flight of steps.

The Bodleian Japanese Library Induction Wednesday, 3 October from 9.30 to 10.30am.

Departmental Inductions

Some departments and faculties deliver induction sessions during freshers’ week.  Details will be added below as sessions are confirmed.  If your subject is not listed below, please check back for updates nearer to the start of freshers’ week.  You will need to make a note of the confirmed timeslot and add it to your freshers’ timetable.

BA Experimental Psychology and BA Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics (PPL) Students Induction and Welcome Letter

BA Oriental Studies (Japanese). All freshers for BA OS will have an induction on Friday 5 October (Week 0).

There will be an extra assessment session for first year Japanologists on: Wednesday 3 October from 14:00-16:00 Lecture Room 2, Oriental Institute.
