Vacation Grants
Following discussions with the JCR, and with the agreement of Governing Body in Michaelmas Term 2002, it was agreed that the first call on the Vacation Grant Fund will be to Government supported Home/EU undergraduates living in College and taking examinations out of term. This payment will cover the period until 10.00am on the day following an undergraduate's last examination. Undergraduates sitting examinations out of term do not therefore need to apply for a grant as payments to cover rents will be made automatically via battels.
In the second round of grants, priority will be given to Government supported Home/EU applicants in the following order:
- Undertaking courses outside term, including fieldwork;
- Revision in Oxford for those who are in hardship;
- Other reasons, which must be stated and endorsed by your Tutor.
Application for funds for approved vacation courses should be made to the University department concerned.
Students who believe that they can make a case of exceptional need or hardship should compile a statement giving full details, with the assistance of their Tutor who should counter-sign it before sending it to the Academic Registrar.
Application forms are available in the Academic Registrar's Office from 5th week of each term. Completed forms, signed by the appropriate tutor, must reach the Academic Registrar no later than 5.00 pm on the Friday of 8th week.
