Accommodation & Catering

With the opening of our new quad in October 2012 we will be able to accommodate all undergraduates for three years. First years are all accommodated in rooms on the College main site. Second and third-year students have the option of remaining on the main site - including the new quad - or of living at the Sir Geoffrey Arthur Building, a short walk away by the river.

We do our best to offer accommodation to all graduate students new to Oxford, either at the Sir Geoffrey Arthur Building or in one of two College-owned houses off Botley Rd.  There is also a small number of rooms available on the main site, usually reserved for MBA students, and a limited number of flats for graduate couples available from October 2012 as part of the new quad.

Main-site rooms are banded A-E by quality and size, with rents varying accordingly. Over recent years extensive renovation of student accommodation has been carried out resulting in many rooms being of an extremely high standard, with a large proportion en-suite.  Nervertheless, there remains a good number of fair-sized, good quality rooms with wash basins, at a significantly lower rent.

The College will do its best to allocate you your room of choice.

Pembroke College complies with the Universities UK Code of Practice for the Management of Student Housing, which lays down an agreed set of standards for student accommodation and is subject to periodic external audit.

More detail of room types, rents  and catering provision is contained in the following pages.
