Getting Your Degree
All students wishing to have their degrees conferred, either in person or in absentia, should contact the Academic Office for further information.
Dates
There are various dates throughout the year when degrees are conferred click here and you will notice that the College now allocates dates to specific subjects. We would be prepared to consider individual requests for an alternative date but we could only accommodate this request if we were sure a space was available. Once you have decided which date you would like to attend please return a completed Degree Conferment Form to the Academic Office.
Graduate, Overseas & Medical students
Candidates intending to have higher degrees conferred should not apply until they have been given permission (leave to supplicate) by University authorities. Graduate students may book to have their degrees conferred at any of the dates throughout the year.
MA
Those in possession of a BA or BFA may apply for the degree of MA in or after the 21st term after matriculation. Pembroke, along with most other Oxford Colleges, collects a £10 fee from each MA candidate to pass on to the University. Apply in the same way as for your undergraduate degree.
Degree Certificates
Degree certificates are issued automatically following a degree ceremony, and will be available to collect in College on the day for those graduating in person. Candidates having their degree conferred in absentia will have their certificate posted to them the next working day after the ceremony. Each graduate is entitled to one copy free of charge of a standard certificate for each degree which has been formally conferred on them, whether in person or in absence. Subsequent copies are available at £5 each. Please note that certificates can only be applied for after your degree has been conferred.
Please see the University Website for further details on degree certificates.
